Audi is on fire this summer. And it has nothing to do with the season's heat. Rather the premium automaker is turning up the temperature with its stunning victories within the automotive racing sector. More specifically, Audi took a historical 1-2-3 win at June's Le Mans 24 Hour race.
What exactly is a "1-2-3" win? That would be claiming the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place of course. Not only did Audi take the number one and two spots with its Audi R18 e-tron quattro, but it placed third with its Audi R18 Ultra as well.
What's more, this win marks the first time a hybrid vehicle emerged victorious at Le Mans. Talk about one small step for Audi; one giant leap for the automotive industry as a whole. As you'd expect, Audi officials are absolutely enthused about the wins.
Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich, Head of Audi Motorsport, proudly exclaims, "This is no doubt a historic victory for Audi...That was an outstanding achievement by the entire squad, naturally with support from Audi's Technical Development too, as we're always working very closely together with the people who are developing our cars of tomorrow for the customers."1
Now, Circle Audi at 1919 North Lakewood Boulevard Long Beach, CA 90815 might not have a lineup of Audi race vehicles...but as for those "cars of tomorrow," we've got that covered. Be sure to stay tuned to our Audi blog and watch for more news surrounding current and evolving new Audi vehicles.
